boot it up with a windows xp cd but it still says that the ntldr.dll file is missing can ne1 help plz email me or answer this question

Does it actually boot the cd or is the BIOS set to boot the harddrive first, I wonder? Try to change the order to boot from the cd and then, once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows.

Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing enter.

You will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password.

Copy the below two files to the root directory of the primary hard disk (C:\). In the below example, we are copying these files from the CD-ROM drive letter "D". This letter may be different on your computer.

copy d:\i386\ntldr c:\
copy d:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\

If you are lucky enough to have more than one bootable drive, you could locate the ntldr.dll on the remaining bootable drive and copy it to your problem drive.
