First check to make sure the plug that connects the keyboard to the computer is plugged in properly. Make sure the computer is off when you do this, or you may damage the computer. If that's ok, and the keyboard still don't work, replace the keyboard.

Keyboards are cheap. Get another. If that's a problem try to borrow one first. If it works, yours is faulty. If it doesn't it's your programme or socket. Try going into Control Panel and keyboard and using the commands in there to see if yours is OK.

First thing I would do, turn off, and try to borrow one you know works, plug it in reboot PC, if it works, then you know its your old one, if not, you might have to have the serial connections repaired, or get a wireless USB, mouse/keyboard combo.
