Hardware - November 2006

Everytime i type certain letters, and press certain symbols, it does an unecesary action, and it is very annoying.

When i press space, it sometimes types a number, doesnt space at all, or makes a lot of spaces.
I tried restarting my computer, it doesnt work.

Took me forever to write this, but how do you fix it?

I need to play splinter cell double agent, and I need an nvidia 6200. Problem is, I have a laptop. The graphics card and mother board, are, well, the same board; so I can't play this $50 amazing game I just bought. Any help or links to download sites would be greatly appreciated! :)

I have a COMPAQ computer its about 4 or 5 years old. Its become slow and I have had to restore the system numerous amounts of time over the year. There are always errors and its always freezing up on me.They still make the parts for my model. I would like to upgrade my computer but Im not sure if Im supposed to replace the processor or the hard drive or both?

For some reason I have no available free disc space on my hard-drive. I have a toshiba satellite lap top and keep virtually nothing on my laptop. I have no available free disc space on my C drive. I have deleted and removed unused files, programs, temp files. The only program I have running that takes up memory is iTunes and Microsoft works. Anyone have any advice about what could be eating up free space?

When I view the statistics it shows that I am running at around 3-6 FPS. My question is how do I get 30 FPS. Is it my webcam or my computer. The computer is new Compaq nc8430 and I am using a lynxis wireless router. Could it be my router. If I connect directly to a cable modem will I get 30 FPS. Thanks

I want to upgrade my RAM from single 512 mb DDR to "512mb(existing) + 1gb(new)" .. will it work properly?

I am worried weather one 1 GB and one 512 MB rams will support each other or not.. or is it necessary that i should use both rams with same value?

My best friend had one, and he said the quality was horrendous! First the hinges wore out and got sloppy, and then the keyboard quit working right..he replaced the keyboard, and it lasted about a year before it went bad yet again...and then screws literally started falling out of the case. Towards the end, he said he had to hold it together with his left hand in order for it to work at all. The worst part; this laptop never left his house! He swears he would never buy another Dell again. I was wondering, have others had the same problems with Dell quality (or lack thereof)?
