For some reason I have no available free disc space on my hard-drive. I have a toshiba satellite lap top and keep virtually nothing on my laptop. I have no available free disc space on my C drive. I have deleted and removed unused files, programs, temp files. The only program I have running that takes up memory is iTunes and Microsoft works. Anyone have any advice about what could be eating up free space?

The hibernation takes up a lot of space. Disable that in power management. System restore can eat up half the hard drive and is almost never good for anything. Turn it off and you'll get a whole bunch of space back. If you have a bunch of memory, the pagefile.sys file might be huge. If you had years worth of temporary internet files, the delete function in IE tools/options might not work right. You need to check the temp folders in Windows and make sure everything is deleted.

Check the size of each of these folders on your C: drive:

Documents and Settings
Program Files
Windows

... by right-clicking on the folder and selecting 'properties'. See if one of them is excessively large (say... over 3 to 4 Gb). Try downloading and installing Crap Cleaner. Its gets rid of lots of... well... crap.

Go to system restore and turn it off that will delete all the restore saved on your computer, then restart computer and turn system restore on again.
Note: doing that will erase all the restore, if for any reason you want to restore, the only restore you will find is after you deleted the old restore.

Lloyd has a great answer, but it could be spyware and web beacons also. Have you tried a spyware filter? And maybe erasing some of your cookies?
