I'm thinking of getting the new mac laptop (the 15 inch MacBook Pro) and would like some comments on how it runs, some advantages and disadvantages. I've been useing a PC all my life, but uased macs for a seven day computer course in photoshop, so I would also like to know what some of the larger changes are.

Also, PLEASE don't mention the mightymouse. I know all about it, and actually like that feature.

I need something that will be Vista compatible. But the laptop will be for home use only. A bit of gaming, surfing, DVD, skype video calls etc. But needs to look good and have a few special features. Last time around I had an Acer Ferrari 3400 but its performance was awful . . Slow and kept locking up!!

One of my computer backup drive is based on FAT32 system and my primary drive is run on NTFS drive.

I use Norton Ghost. Is this compatible? It is is making backup, but I'm afraid if I have to restore my primay drive I won't able to, due to different file system.

Does anyone know or had any problems with this?

I recently bought a 400gb usb harddrive. I have put about 100gb of mp3 on there. All has been fine until this morning when the drive states it needs to be reformatted?????

I will lose all my files.

Did any of you guys have big probs getting signed into BT Yahoo last night? I have asked this question b4 but the weird thing is, I tried all night last night on my new wireless laptop which is approx 12 feet away, 4 those who don't know feet and inches it is roughly about 4 metres away. I tried and tried all night and nearly threw my new laptop in the bin, funny thing is, my 3 year old Sony Vio home Pc that I gave to my youngest son, who has it upstairs in his bedroom and it has an external wireless unit that I fitted a few weeks ago, now what puzzles me is that he can always get online with no probs yet my laptop is bang right next to the home hub and I have all these probs getting on line. Even on a good night, I have to keep pressing the sign in button many times, sometimes up to 10 to 15 times before I can get on.
Please can someone help me, do you recon it could be my laptop thats at fault as my sons pc is fine.

1.I have this HP Pavillion,...when i just bought 2 moths ago,..it was very quick when surfing the net.Fast down load,..etc,..but now gettin slower,...how can i make it fast back?,..other then scan disk,.disc defragmenter,..etc

2.Before this HP,..i use to have compaq immpressario,...its the same,..when brand new its so fast,...but after few months,...it maybe infected,..it getinng slow and slower.

3.IS THERE ANY VIRUS,..OR SPAM IMPLANT IN COMPUTER,...that make my comp getting slower?...just like sucking memories capacity?

i seem to have this problem of missing precious space on my drive.im using windws xp and its on the D drive of my hard disk which has a capacity of 6.97 GB.all files included in the drive have occupy a space of 5.60 GB(including all hidden files).yet i seem to have a free space of 0nly 300 MB.what could be hte problem?and what are all the files that could be safely deleted from your windows folder to free some space?

it cant be a driver fault because it would at least detect the hardware + i have the driver on floppy but it simply shows no hardware to add to system

pc went wierd yesterday. drive kept making strange noises. froze alot. no viruisis found. eventually managed to do a disc scan that helped. connected to internet ok as u can see. but wanna know how to change from safe mode as everything is big and pictures are fuzzy and wierd looking??? please help. i have windows M.E.

hey people help me recover this laptop it happened that i was using the laptop then it suddenl hanged for sometime so i decided to shutit down using the shutdown key ..when i tried to restart it again it didnt work it says C:windows\system32\config\system file is corrupt and it advises me to repair it usin xp cd
i have tried to repair it but evry time i run setup it does not read the previous operating system making it haard to repair
does anyone know how to repair using the first recovery repair i dont know how to use those commands very well does any one know how i can repair this from dos
i also had some several restore points so does any one know how to restore it maybe using command prompt .. i have some important documents(board meeeting reports) and files in this computer so how do i recover them if the solution is reinstalling it ?
