It means that whatever file you were loading or unloading from the PC to or from the USB device is either open or may have a temporoary file somewhere. So do not worry, all you need to do is make sure ALL you were working on is not running now, then just unplug the USB device form your PC. USB devices are what is called HOT SWAPPABLE. Which means you do not need to power off the PC to plug in or unplug from the computer. so as long as it is not trying to send or receive any files, pics,ETC then you will be okay to pull the plug. For some reason some computers have this issue but it will not affect your USB device as ling as it is not running. If it freezes while transferring files and you unplug it you may lose whatever data is being transferred, but not from the PC. Whenever you send from the PC to the USB device always use the COPY TO rather than MOVE TO so you have a back up before it sends it. Hope this helps.

That usually happens when some process in the system is still using that device...either you're accessing any files directly from the device or playing some music files...stop them and try ejecting it!! even after this it says u wait for a few mins or retry or just plug it out it wont cause any trouble!!
