As time goes on you download more and more software, wether it is from updating your current software or adding new programs you will make it slower and slower over time. Also the cookies, temp files, and the like will have some effect. So if you want it faster delete out any un-used programs and then run disk defrag.

Another option is to install more memory. I have a HP laptop with the AMD XP64, 1024Mb of Ram and just like any other computer it will slow down. I reformat my hard drive occasionaaly after I save any important files so I have a fresh start. Then I do not put software on until I need it. Hope this helps

1. Install an anti-virus scanner

2. Spyware remover: Ex., Spybot, ad-aware etc.,

3. change your browser from IE (ex., Opera, Firefox, mozilla etc.,)

4. Also, try to cleanup your registry using some registry cleaning program. Windows slows down if you keep installing software since the registry grows with each install. So the boot-up time of the machine keeps increasing. You may want to remove unwanted programs and clean the registry.

5. If it's only the web browsing that is slow, try a different browser like i suggested and also check the ISP's internet connection itself. That may be slow by itself. Get a second computer and test the speed.

i dont think you have a virus... as we use our computer we accumulate space in our harddrive... we download stuff, we install applications, etc.... as we install applications these certain programs use system resources to function.. they accumulate your free memory and they reduce it thus making our computer slower because they aren't enough free memory left and also space in our harddrive... the OS will then be slower if you put more stuff in your computer and also when you install them into it.... i suggest you uninstall applications that you dont use...and put more memory and harddrive space into your memory.... memory should be 1GB and above.... Harddrive should be for the OS is 40 gb and above...... the more you can put free space the better :)
