All of the cords are connected and functional, I have restarted and refreshed everything...I have turned off the computer and modem, unplugged and replugged the cords. Network settings says enabled, but there is no internet connection (im typing this while at work)...I have also restored the system to a day I know the internet was working. Could I need a new NIC card?

Right I have a pc monitor (CRT) which is a Samsung Samtron 55E. My mate has got XP (like me) and his computer recognizes his monitor. Mine just says Plug and Play.

The Problem is the monitor can only go up to 1024x768, but my pc says the monitor can go up to 1289x1024, but it can't. And how come my pc recognaises it as a plug and play monitor?

Is it something to do with the graphics card?

(Intel (r) 82810E Graphics Controller)

Are there still people out there, using what we consider obsolete pc's..

Ie; CP/M based pc's
APPLE II's
C64's.

& I dont mean hobbyists either, since I still have a functional ALTAIR in my office, more now for a decoration than real use.

scan stopped after 20 errors & gave me the report below, my question is: 1. how can i scan the whole disk without stopping after 20 errors found (i'm connecting the hard disk to my pc with USB cable), and 2. can i keep using this hard disk as my laptop hard disk and keep windows on it? or is it not safe? how many bad sectors can i ignore?

SeaTools has stopped scanning drive ST94019A USB Device because at least 20 sectors on the drive are unreadable. As a precaution against data loss, it is strongly suggested that you back up any important data on the drive as soon as possible.
