No absolutely not. Keep it.

That machine would also run Vista if necessary.

What u have is newer than mine...
And your description, is less than my own usage.

I do a heck of a lot more than your list, with a 650mhz P3
w/768meg ram but I have 500gig of HD (w/4 computers even slower).

I am in the process of replacing two of the slowest with 2 new fast & current.

Your system isnt even close to outdated..
Whoever told u that is a fool.
I would however always recommend as much ram as u can afford.

You sound fine to me, not unless you juss want something faster.
You can pick one up for about $495 it is and emachine not sure how good they are but they are fairly fast.
Then you can always buy a dell and spend a whole lot of money on a computer with things that you will not ever use.
Stay with what you have if you like it .

If that spec list is what you have now that is absolutely more than adequate for what you're using it for.

I have a nearly 10 year old computer that does all that you mentioned and works perfectly.

Cheaper speed upgrades come in more ram, but 1GB is plenty enough for your uses. It wouldn't be cost efficient to buy more.

Don't upgrade because someone else says you're out of date. I've said this many times, if the computer does what you need it to do and does it quickly enough, don't worry about it. Only gamers need the extreme performance of the most recent videocards, etc.

I don't know why anyone would say you need a new computer!! I'm sure there are MANY people using a more outdated one than those specs you just posted.
