I am in outside sales. I provide printed estimates from a printer that sits in my backseat. I want to mount my lap top similar to that of a police cruiser. No, I am not a wanna be or impersonator. I only use it while sitting outside my customers home and from the drivers seat that is still a cumbersome activity.

Are the non-widescreens still being made by anyone? I dislike the new wide-screen notebooks. Is everyone using their notebooks to watch movies now? I don't even know what a non-widescreen is called.

I don't mean by going to system tools and opening it. Isn't there a way that I boot from a disc and choose to erase everything and have it restore itself to the day it came out of the box.
If it helps, this is a dell dimension 4600 desktop computer.
Please help because dell's website is retarded ans I don't feel like putting up with it.

I am a little confused, and completely clueless, of why this happens, and if it matters what I do.

When I have things plugged into my USB 2.0 port, like my iPod or my memory stick, There comes up at the bottom right in the registry a way to disconnect them. I can click it, and it says that I can disconnect. But sometimes, I just pull it out, say if I need to leave in a hurry or something, or I'm just lazy. Does it matter what I do? Do I always need to "safely" remove items by clicking them and removing them at the bottom right, or can I just pull it out? If you need any other computer specifications, please say so.

I had a Lexmark x1100 and I upgraded to a 1200, but I'm still getting the same software error

a message saying lexmark is starting for the first time, please wait, it says it's scanning for applications that support the scanner- I've let it go all night with no results, I've had this problem with 2 printers now, so someone else must be experiencing this problem too

Can anyone help me with a solution???

Everytime I run scandisk it says I have 344,000 bytes in bad sectors. I've run it several times and it always says that. During the defrag you can see here and there a bad sector. They aren't in groups and they are random. Can these be fixed? Are they really hurting anything? I want to upgrade to Windows 2000. (I have Mindows ME which stands for most erroneous.) Should I bother upgrading or is my hard drive ruined? If I upgrade would it fix the bad sectors? I would appreciate any information on the subject.

Anyone with a laptop with limited hard drive space. Do you use a external Hard Drive for other purposes beside backing up files? Like putting games, music etc. on it? I have Windows XP Professional. My computer had a virus in April of this year. Luckily, that was taken care of, but now everytime I turn on the computer a blue screen pops up. The blue screen said Chkdsk. It said that the computer was checking a disk for any problems. I have a chance to press any key on the keyboard to stop it, and I did let it check it. A lot of things work fine on my computer, but when I try to Defragment something it says: "Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: C:
Please run Chkdsk /f." So i go to the command prompt, and type in chkdsk /f, and it says: "THE TYPE OF FILE SYSTEM IS NTFS. CANNOT LOCK CURRENT DRIVE. CHKDSK CANNOT RUN BECAUSE THE VOLUME IS IN USE BY ANOTHER PROCESS. WOULD YOU LIKE THIS VOLUME TO BE CHECK THE NEXT TIME THE SYSTEM RESTARTS?" I do not have by the way, a Microsoft XP CD. Please, help me with this. I am looking for the best answer ever, step by step! PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO GO TO A COMPUTER WORKSHO
