Please under $600. I prefer Windows, not Apple. I prefer a smaller screen. And I will be using it only for Microsoft Office things like Powerpoint, Excel and Word, and iTunes. Thanks!

Shop this Dell Refurb. store, near my home, that has laptops with warrantees, pulled from Corporate leases, start at $299 to $599.

I trust these folks, otherwise I wouldn't rec. And they all come with warrantees. http://cheaptronicsdepot.com

I repair Macs, and would rec a Mac, but, not off of ebay!!! Seen too many disasters that shouldn't be sold, that the sellers HAD to have known were badly damaged by fluids, spills, blown parts!

Check out the Mac site, http://apple.com for their refurbs with full warrantees!

Best Buy has a two day sale. Lots of their things are sold out, but they do have a Gateway for $529.00 The second answer you got gives a number Gateway does not recognize. I would check it out now. You can also buy computers on eBay, but they are not usually new. Good luck with your search. Gateway is a good brand. I have had one for 5 years with almost no trouble.

attempt the HP g60-440us at workplace depot for $429 w/ a mail in rebate, it has 3gb of ram and 320gb hdd that is really sensible it has a webcam, a silver keyboard an a intel pentium twin center processor. W/o a rebate it really is $479 and HP is a sturdy sort.

If you need a new laptop under $600, then try any of these options:

-A Dell Inspiron B130 which starts at $539
-Or a Dell Inspiron B130 starting at $489
Those two are great for Productivity software and playing music, but you will need a wireless adapter in order to get WiFi internet access. You can buy them directly from www.dell.com

-You my look at those notebook/laptops at www.NewEgg.com there you can narrow your search by Price. Check this link where I already set the price range below $750 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Submit=ENE&N=2030260032+4021+1292318471+1041006876+1041206882&Subcategory=32&description=&srchInDesc=&minPrice=&maxPrice=

-At Amazon.com you can narrow your search by price too. Follow this link to look at some good and cheap laptops. http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?link_code=ur2&tag=cafepress-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&location=%2Fs%2Fref%3Dsr_nr_p_3_1%3Fie%3DUTF8%26rh%3Dn%253A541966%252Cn%253A565108%252Cp%255Fhardware%255Fplatform%253APC%252Cp%255Fcomputer%255Fcpu%255Fmanufacturer%253AIntel%252Cp%255Fdisplay%255Fsize-bin%253A00200%257B14%2520to%252015%2520in.%257B%257C14%2520to%252015%2520in.%252Cp%255Fcomputer%255Fcpu%255Fspeed-bin%253A1.6%2520to%25201.9%2520GHz%252Cp%255F3%253A%2524500-%2524999%26page%3D1

--For better performance and low price look for laptops with at least 512MB of RAM.

dell.com
gateway.com
bestbuy.com
circuitcity.com
amazon.com
wal-mart.com

I could name other sites where you can browse around.

You are not going to get a "smaller screen" laptop without paying for a "smaller" laptop, and that will cost you probably over a grand.

You will probably have to pay extra for MS suite...usually they only come with Works.

I believe you can download iTunes for free even, so that should not be a concern.
