Ok, I've a certain computer for about two years now. After about three months. It kept freezing and freezing. First, it would make this really weird noise in the hard drive, I'm guessing is the fan. Then my computer would completely freeze. What's wrong with it? Does it need a new fan?

If it's making weird noises in the hard drive then chances are it's the hard drive.

If it's a fan problem you can check this by first turning your PC off, then unplugging the hard drive cable. Afterwards turn on your PC and go into the BIOS. Check your fan rpms and also leave your case open to see where if there is any weird noise or stoppage occurring on your fans. If everything seems OK, then it's probably your hard drive about to go out.

could be the fan.
though one thing you might wanto keep straight. the hard disk is not that box that you put the cd's in and has the cables plugged into the back and the power button on the front. it contains the hard disk but it's called a tower.

now that beeing said the hard disk is an important part of the tower, and if it failed the computer would be unable to function and they do sometimes make loud noise when they are about to fail.

Is your computer running slow if so go to start>run>msconfig>then click on startup tab and uncheck everything....it wont hurt. If this does not fix reinstall windows or may need new hard drive.

sounds like the HD is going bad from what you wrote. I'd replace it as soon as possible.
