I am in outside sales. I provide printed estimates from a printer that sits in my backseat. I want to mount my lap top similar to that of a police cruiser. No, I am not a wanna be or impersonator. I only use it while sitting outside my customers home and from the drivers seat that is still a cumbersome activity.

Do a search online for a lap top dash mount
and you could probably find a kit that you can use.You can also find out where they are sold.
When you buy one there will be instructions on how to install it.

I'd suggest going and talking to your local pd and asking them to let you see how they do it, and then you'll see how to do it or get it done.
