Hardware - August 2006

When ever I try to watch a video, the video never loads, and my entire computer locks up. I have enough RAM- I have 1GB. My processor is 2.53GHz. I have a 128MB GeForce 6200. I have tried watching with no other users on, closing all the other open programs, turning off my anti virus, and all my drivers and software is up-to-date. None of my RAM is faulty. There is nothing wrong with the videos because I used to watch them on my 512mb of RAM, 1.3GHz processor, 32MB of Video RAM, Sony Vaio.

All the answers I got before were from drain bead idiots who knew nothing about computers. Please, only answers from people who know how to use a computer.

i have lots of song on my ipod, i have downloaded them from my computer so i can odviously listen to them at home, but i am at my dads house and on his computer and i want to listen to them through the comptuer, is there any way? i plug it in and tthey come up and everything but is there any way i can put them onto this comptuer and save them? help! thannks!!

I have a Compaq Presario S5000NX with a 2.5 Ghz celeron, with 768 MB of RAM. I use my computer for graphic intensive games.

Should I upgrade my processor (I was thinking pentium 4), or do I have enough and therefore wait until the next big thing comes out?

I used to be able to do it very easily but now when I go to control panel and then 'scanners and cameras' the scanner isn't even in that section. I tried looking at the help topics but it isn't helping. The printer is hooked up to my computer. I tried to also just push scan on the printer but the window that used to come up before doesn't come up.

i just got my computer back from the repair shop. they had to replace the video card and the moden. well now my problem is this. when i play music or watch a video on youtube it goes really slow or it messes up and plus if you have another web page up that messes up the music and videos too..what could be causing this problem? just about everything i do on here messes with the music and videos..talking to people on AIM or Yahoo. everything. i hope someone can help me with this.

I have been having major problems with my laptop. It has been brought back to circuit city over 3 times, they suck!! Then called manufactuer and they made us run a test on the hard drive which passed, then had us re install everything 2 times. Whats been happening is a physical memory dump, computer freezes when starts up, doesnt even get passed the windows loading so i have to shut it down holding the power button. It has told me that a hard drive could not be detected, to the graphics driver not wotking. Why is this happening especially 2 minutes after everything was reinstalled??? Please Help me this computer cost me $1900 and i just want it to work??

I have an older linksys router befsr41 version 3 that still works and has been sitting in my drawer for a long time (linksys doesn't update the firmware on it anymore) it still safe to use on the Internet security wise?
