I currently have the RCA cable w/ 1/4" adapter going from the preamp into the 1/4" input located on the back of the computer tower, but no sound is coming out of the computer speakers. Do I need a special driver to recognize the phonograph?

I intend to purchase a laptop for college, the net, music, etc.
I was curious would it be smarter to buy say a laptop with a 60G internal hard drive with an external hard drive of some sort. Or should I just save my cash and get a 100G internal hard drive, and call it good enough? I'd rather purchase something that will meet my needs than save some cash...after all, you get what you pay for...

now that i have installed a regular dvd player on my pc how do i set it up so that i can use it so i dont have to keep putting things on my hard drive, i want it so i can copy from it to my dvd burnner without downloading them to my hard drive how do i set the dvd's up or which is the master and slave drive, is the regular dvd player going to be the master or the slave drive and and it is on the bottom and how do i name them so that each will have a drive letter the dvd burnner that came with the pc was drive (E) . i hope that i have explained enough here so that someone will understand what i am tring to do, and will i have to have a program for the new dvd player it is used and i didnt get anything with it but the drive itself

im travelling to the phhillipines for work, and I have to bring my laptop.

Phillipines runs on 220V 60Hz... Canada is 110/120V 50Hz(i think)...

my laptop power supply has an input rating of 100-240V ~1.5A\50-60HZ....

Can i use it without the travel adaptor/transfomer i bought??

I had microsoft WORD, and now when i upgraded some things, via microsoft.com, all i get it Microsoft Viewer.

This does NOT allow me to make editing changes, so I cannot make any corrections.

Why did this happen??

I turned on my compter today and it said while booting up...(XP)
that " volume is dirty"
"the type of file system is NTFS"
Then it did a chkdsk for Files
Then it did a chkdsk for Indexes
then it deleted like 15 files
then it did a chkdsk for Security Descp... something
all the files said $I30
I have no idea why this did this... i never had this happen on this computer... any ideas

Hi,

I want to upgrade my computer by adding SDRAM dimms. Actually I have one SDRAM 256Mb PC133 in it and I want to know if I can add two SDRAM 512Mb PC100 in the empty slots ?

Can I combine two different (PC100 and PC133) and if not, can I replace the PC133 by the two PC100 and what would be the impact of doing that ?

I refilled the ink in my color cartridge, it prints great, but when I check my ink levels , only the black cartridge shows "full", the color is grayed out with a red "X" over it. How can fix this , without buying a New Cartridge? Is there a trick?
