someone just gave my mom a Toshiba laptop that says "sattelite" on the back and a "credit card modem" slipped out of it.Will that card give her internet capabilities/access.I don't know what to do.What should I tell her?

That is a wifi card. Go to Starbucks, buy her a Jamocha, pay for the access, and, check it out!

If it doesn't work, think of the 'date' as a reward for years of her acceptance of you, even if they DID mix up the babies in the hospital!

And, get a second opinion, in person, from a geek friend! And, buy that Geek Friend some Pizza and Beer!!!

that is called a pci slot, if she doesn't have an ethernet connection on the computer then she would get a card to put in there. It should have at least a modem for a phone line in it.

Based on the description she should be able to get WiFi access from the card.

you better go to the company's site and find out what they consider illegal first.... i'm sure you don't want your mom to get fined
