HP & Compaq are 1 company but HP computers are more expensive. I wish to know if there is a great difference in quality between the two. I wish to buy a HP desktop but am recommended to buy Compaq instead. I wish to get some constructive feedback to make a decision. Thank you.

Is it possible to use a PC's internal components to upgrade a Mac?

My friend is giving me his old G3, and I have a DVD burner, sound card, and extra hard drive lying around. Would they be compatible with an Apple computer?

It never used to do this...what are some of the reasons a graphics card (ATI x800 xt platinum) would overheat? All my fans are working properly.

It will suddenly flick over to a widescreen-like setting that will extend items beyond the screen's field of vision... Its an older screen (TV type, not flatscreen or anything) and I just got it at goodwill, so I can return it if need be.
Any advice would be helpful
Thanks
Matt
Also I run on Windows XP 2003 if you think that might have anything to do with it.

I recently bought a Gateway computer and then installed an ATI radeon X1600 Pro video card. Randomly red blinking dots randomly appear all over my screen, the screen freezes, then goes black, and goes back to normal. A window appears that says VPU has reset your graphics accelerator. This is really frustrating, I paid around $300 for this card when it first came out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am building my own computer and currently have a 40 GB hard drive. I only plan to do school work (word documents, a few powerpoints...) and a couple GBs worth of games. Is that going to overload my computer or will 40 GB suffice.

I went to the computer shop today and got the ASUS P4V800D-X motherboard. I also went and got 2x 512MB DDR 400MHz Memory sticks. I had the processor which does work because I tested the Intel Celeron D 2.4GHz Processor on a friends computer and worked. The problem is when I connect all the leads in the motherboard (I know their correct) then to the psu then turn the power on the motherboard LED light on the motherboard does not turn on. I do have a power switch on the power supply unit (psu) and still the light does not turn on I think the problem is that the psu is not providing power to my motherboard I have tested 3 motherboards on this psu and every time they don't work even if they work on another psu. Is this likely to be the psu that is stopping my new computer from working? please help!!!

do u think apple should get into the pda [industry], and give palm, dell, hp/compaq a run for the money. or would it be a waste of money as apple cannot handle the competition?
