Is it possible to use a PC's internal components to upgrade a Mac?

My friend is giving me his old G3, and I have a DVD burner, sound card, and extra hard drive lying around. Would they be compatible with an Apple computer?

Apple likes to make you think parts arn't compatible but in reality almost everything will work. I have installed new hard drives, RAM, and DVD burners made for PC with no problems.

It depends
is everything compatible?
for the harddrive, just try plugging in the harddrive wire, if it fits, it works, if it doesn't, well make sure u have it in the right spot, if it doesn't work after wards, make sure u have it inthe right direction, after that, then u know it doesn't work.
the sound card has to use a certain slot, AGP, PCI, etc. try, if it fits, the better for you, if it doesn't then make sure u have it in the right slot, its hte right direction, yada yada, you get the point.
DVD burner will work though, atleast i think so
