Phillipines runs on 220V 60Hz... Canada is 110/120V 50Hz(i think)...

my laptop power supply has an input rating of 100-240V ~1.5A\50-60HZ....

Can i use it without the travel adaptor/transfomer i bought??

The fact that your laptop rating plate says - input rating of 100-240V ~1.5A\50-60HZ means that it is designed to take on either voltage levels.

Just ensure that there is no switch to change the voltage setting on laptop. Please refer the laptop manual for clear instructions. In case you do not have one, visit the manufacturer website and download one related to your laptop model and go through it rather than blowing up the laptop due to negligence.

You don't have to buy any adaptor. But first check you AC adaptor that comes with your laptop. It should say 110-220v. That means it will operate in... you guess it 110-220volts. I made a mistake before when I went home for vacation last August. Here, I am bringing a separate adaptor, when in fact my adaptor is already set to operate in 110-220 volts.

You should get a good 240v surge protector with universal plug kit. I wouldn't trust the quality of power in many of the places over there.

You cannot plug it in directly because the shape of the pllugholes in Philippines are different. You need the adaptor.

Dont worry it should work without the adaptor. But after you get off the plane, you should use the adaptor.
