I'm trying to install a Radeon video card to update from my ancient Nvidia one, and the first step is to update the AGP drivers for the motherboard. It said to go to control panel, system, device manager, and system devices. And here I'm supposed to find the chipset manufacturer's name so I can update the drivers? All I see that seems appropriate is "Intel 8w443BX Pentium II processor to AGP controller." Then it says to double click on the name and go to the Driver tab and then go to the Driver Details button. But the button is fogged out, it's lighter, you know, like when they make it so you can't click on it. So I don't know how I'm supposed to update the drivers... The video card I'm using currently is an AGP one, so do I really need to update anything? It says "Not only do you need display drivers for an AGP graphics card, you also need drivers for your motherboard, which enable AGP functionality for the motherboard chipset." And that makes me think it's fine how it is.

I have a Dell SmartStep 250N. First, I got an "Operating System Not Found" message. A little later, the screen was completely blank on start up. I bought a new hard drive and RAM and installed them. Now when I start it up, the power lights come on and the fan spins and the DVD Drive will pop out if I press the button, but the screen is completely blank and there are no sounds. If I press cap lock the light doesn't light up. What's the problem and what can I do to fix it?

I am working on a PC that will now power on since a recent storm. I switched out the power supply with a spare one which is 100 watts less than the original one. I only plugged it into the motherboard and hard drive. It does light up in the front and I can hear the power supply working now. I hear no other sounds though. Is that because I have to get the correct watts and plugged it up all the way? How would I know if there is a problem with the motherboard?

My computer is an eMachines desktop. The model is a T2885. The motherboard was just replaced in april. It has a 2.8GHz Intel Celeron Processor, an 80GB hard drive (of course right now it's a bit bogged down with games and such), a DVD-ROM drive (16x Max. Read), a CD-RW drive (48x Max. Read), 1024MB RAM, ATI Radeon 9200 GPU, and an Intel(R) PRO 10/100 LAN port. The sound card is Envy24 Family Audio blahblahblah (it's decent.) and i was thinking of including a few higher end games that I've purchased. The monitor would be included, but it's old and bulky. Thanks in advance.

I originally purchased it for about 500 dollars, but i've added the new sound card, new GPU, mobo replaced, installed an 80mm fan, and added 512MB RAM

I do not want to use them both at the same time. My pc with 95 has word on it. And I need to use it to write a resume. Any Ideas. but the one with 95 does not have a modem.
