it's generally safer to buy the heatsink and fan when you buy the CPU. There are so many different sized socked and the heat sink / fan should be sized to the socket.

If the one you're pulling is the same size, then it would work. If different, then it's questionable.

If the cpu is faster than the old one (and I cannot imagine why you would buy a slower one) it also probably runs hotter and needs more cooling. Just because it is the same size it does not mean that an older fan will do the correct job. Buy one made for a faster cpu than you have, it will most likely last longer as it will not be working as hard and, as a slight bonus, will be spinning a little slower and be quieter.

Short answer: Maybe - it depends on what kind of CPU you had originally and what you're replacing it with.

Long answer: fans are relatively cheap, and like anything else with moving parts, they eventually wear out. Why risk a brand new motherboard and CPU for a ten dollar fan? Buy a new one.

Depends on the size of the chip- if it's the same socket size it'll probably fit. Unless you've got a really fancy silent fan I wouldn't bother though, since your average chip fan costs about $10 and is tailored for the CPU it cools.

Sorry, but most likely no. Most fans are Cpu specific but you can make sure by going to the manufacturer's website. If you have to buy a new one, eBay has them cheap.

Oh man, spend the extract few dollars and get the fan...
Better yet, get an AMD boxed CPU it comes with the fan and is sometimes cheaper.

the cpu will usually come with the fan it needs in the box, so just use that one.

If the connector of the fan matches the socket on the motherboard, of course you can use it.

possibly, if it fits that size/speed cpu, but, by all means, if it comes with a thermal pad, or even not, use fresh thermal paste, artic silver is one of the best..
