It depends on your graphics card. Some are dual monitor capable (most mid-level and higher are). All you need is either a monitor with a DVI cable (LCD) or a converter plug that will allow a VGA cord to plug into a DVI port. They're pretty cheap (roughly $10-$20). Then it's a matter of changing your video settings for dual monitor.

Word of caution: Running two monitors can dramatically slow down your system. The overall refresh rate is much lower, and you might get jittering or artifacts on the screens. If you do, consider upgrading your graphics card, adding more RAM memory, or simply returning to a single monitor (but get a larger one).

Yes. They generally won't put 2 ports on a video adapter if it can't handle it. You will need to configure it in your video settings as it will not span automatically when you hook up the second monitor.

advantageous it quite is achieveable yet first you're able to desire to verify some issues: a million) look interior the back of your video card.. if it has 2 computer screen connections If it does, you're a million/2 way residing house. circulate to the video card settings (top click on your pc, click properties, then settings) after plugging interior the 2d computer screen and alter the settings. 2) in case you dont have 2 connectors.. dont panic in simple terms yet. some video enjoying cards are "twin head" meaning they can help 2 video demonstrate instruments yet you like a particular cable which will chop up your single computer screen connection into 2 connections. to make certain in the journey that your card is "twin head", i might verify the documentation. stable success!!

The best way to hook up to monitors with a single keyboard and mouse is multiplicity, it is cheap, efficient and has nice UI, but you have to have multiplicity installed on both computers first. (I hope this helps)
