i was trying to burn a cd and the burner says unable to find burner, please attach one and restart. i go under my computer and the only drive it shows is the main hard drives (HP_PAVILION and HP_RECOVERY)

please open your tower and then reseat the power and data cables of your cd rom and the problem would resolve.

if this doesnt work please try windows system restore

Re-install the CD player by going in to my computer right click go to properties and click the tab hardware and then click device manager. From there uninstall the CD driver in the list then re-boot.. OK there is nothing wrong with the insides or cables because he did say he was TRYING so he had to of opened the CD tray. This is clearly a driver problem not cables

you might need to check if the cd drive is connected and if drivers are installed (older versions of windows might not already have drivers). if not, install a new cd drive

yes it may happen. at the booting time your system is not recognising that drive. well if it U need not wory just check that the bus between that device and motherboard are properly connected or not.

They haven't been properly installed into the sytem.
