I have some music folders that I would like to save, otherwise I want to start completley from scratch. I have the windows cd's that came with the computer. I just don't want to delete everything and end up with a computer that doesn't work anymore.

Im buying a dell (http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&oc=DXPS400F1E&s=dhs) and it comes with a video card ATI Radeon X300 SE HyperMemory 128mb, i was wondering if there is any noticeable difference if i only use this to watch movies. Because Right now my computer is running a Radeon 9200SE 128mb and i cant see any difference compared to anyone else. even a 300$ video card. Is it just me? does this really affect movie watching?. And the same about Audio cards. I have a Sound blaster 5.1 and dont know if its worth upgrading to a THX sound card. would there be noticable difference?

Lenovo is made in China - a sub of IBM. They are promoting Lenovo desktop PC pretty cheap in Singapore.

Understand after sales service is under IBM. True or false?

Is Lenovo hardware reliable?

Anyone who uses Lenovo PC, please share your experience (constructive ones, please). Thank you.

SITUATION:
Girlfriend Turned ON her laptop one day and it was on the Windows XP loading screen for a long time then went to a black screen with the mouse cursor visible and movable. Thinking the hard drive is the problem, I took out the laptop hard drive and connected to a external shell with a USB connector and hooked it up to my desktop. When connected to the desktop, the laptop hard drive is visible. I can go into different folders but I can't go into some such as "My Music" folder, or "My Pictures" folder . I want to transfer personal files such as pictures into the desktop but when trying accessing to certain folders or files, i would get a dialog box saying I have an I/O error. I can't seem to get access to the files. Of course the data wasn't backed-up and the pictures are important to my girlfriend.

QUESTION:
Is the data still salvageable? What is the best way to access and transfer files from the laptop to the desktop in this situation? How do I fix this problem?

I just got a Creative Nano Plus mp3 and i plugged it in my Windows XP cp and my computer shows on the taskbar that there is new hardware but when I go to MY Computer the removable disk (mp3)is not there..I went to the Creative site and did all their support tips but nothing has worked so far, my friends laptop detected the mp3 so i think its my computer that has the problem. I already went to the Device Manager and the mp3 is not listed. Ive put permissions for Everyone. I updated the drivers, I tried all my usb ports, anybody else have any suggestions?
Thanks!

I want an expert opinion on someone in the field of editing if possible. I'm trying to build a really powerful computer. Something like this. 2x270 opteron, tyan mobo, 2 gb of memory 3hd = 2x74gb raptors and 1 300gb maxtor 16mb. Would this yield exceptional results for editing video and for using after effects. I've been doing wedding's for a while but my current system is just not up to par, and some more larger projects are coming up. And recommendations would be appreciated, and another thing, no mac!
