The outdated DOS based format application in residing house windows would only look after approximately 32-40GB of area wisely. A 320 GBpersistent would desire to be partitioned in the previous formatting. That way the greater area would be usable. The bios in some older computers ought to easily understand with reference to an identical volume of area. there is no straightforward restore for that. from time to time you had to place thepersistent in a greater moderen computing device to partition it first, then circulate thepersistent back to place in residing house windows. you additionally could have some proprietary disk translation utility put in on the hd. the massive drives like yours used to return with particular utility already at thepersistent so older computers ought to work out the wholepersistent.

3 options

1. uninstall and delete programs and files you do not use any more. U can make cd copies of them so you don't lose them completely

2. buy another harddrive(a bigger one if possible) and put it into your computer. get it partitioned first and copy everything that u can't on your old harddrive

3. If u really need the space do both

Delete stuff you don't need anymore.

You could burn those on a CD / DVD if you still need them.

Emptying your Recycle Bin is not a bad idea either since those "deleted" files are still there but not entirely deleted.
