ive set up suround sound, and the conection goes from my computer to my subwoofer and the satalite speakers plug in to the subwoofer. but only the subwoofer emits sound. so my question is why dont my other speakers work?

On the side of my laptop, there is a slot with two spaces on top of each other covered by a plastic piece that moves up (like the memory card slot on a PS2, but twice as big).

The opening is about 1/2 - 3/4" tall and about 2 1/2" wide. There are two clicky pieces also, and when they are pressed a plastic piece extends about 1 1/2 inch but does not come out.

What goes into these slots?

I have a regular USB conection and I am using a powered USB 2.0 hub. I also have one high speed conector but my CD /DVD drive conects to that. I want to use my web cam and my scanner on High speed. I also have a wireless card and broadband router.

I'm looking for a nice college student laptop at a reasonable and affordable price ($500-$600).. It doesn't need all the glitz and glamour.. but I'd like to be able to have enough memory for plenty of files.

I am thinking a computer has a minimum of 2 fans, the case fan and the CPU fan/heatsink but I'm wondering if I should get fans for the hard drive and RAM, or other fans as well? Please note that I live in a very warm apartment w/o air conditioning. Any recommended brands of fans for CPU and the rest of the computer?

As for the power supply, how do I figure out what kind to get? Is it better to err on the side of high wattage, or do I risk damaging my computer?

I am going to buy a new PC soon, and I'm thinking about buying the new Intel Core Duo 20'' Imac, and have it as the sole computer at home. I'm a heavy user of Windows apps and, most of all, games.

Does it perform well enough for gaming? Am I better-off with a standard PC with a decent LCD attached?

I recently pulled a 13GB HD from an old Windows 98 system. I tried to install it into my system and it is recognized as 13GB in BIOS but only 1.99GB in Windows (I assume that's because it's FAT16 formatted?) When I attempt to format the disk, I get the error message that the disk is in use by Windows and can't be formatted. I haven't a clue as to how to bypass this error. What can I do?

I've already changed CD-R brands, tried different software, and even restored my computer (not just for that. I did some upgrading as well). I was told there was something between Windows and certain burning software that if I remove that script it will start to burn again. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

help..My computer got no sound out of sudden..While i check under device manager, the sound card program is still there and there's no red (x) or yellow (!) under the sound,video and game controllers. But when i click the sound icon in control panel, it show No Audio device..Another problem is when i try to click on the system icon in the control panel,it pop up and show me Run a DLL as an App has encounter a problem and needs to close. How do i solve all this problem?? Thanks..

On the original space flight to the moon, i believe they used massive rooms of computers for the calculations. Considering it was not really that long ago in terms of ages.

If i was to go back in time and give them a 2GB laptop, what kind of impact would that have?

Im essentially trying to make a point in a paper, but do not really know the scale of change.
