I agree with thunder2sys about www.crucial.com on the memory issue. Run the scan that they have, and it will tell you EXACTLY what your system is compatible with.
As far as video card, you need to find out if you need an APG or PCI adapter for your PC.
While both are easy to install, you need to investigate the drivers for the specific video card that you buy. In my experiences, the drivers that came on the installation CD were third party, and had compatiblity issue with XP. I'd recomend going to the manufacturers website to get drivers that are Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibllity Published. Any third party drivers I have installed, gave me instability issues that wound up being one big headache!

To upgrade is very simple if you have the available bays remove the back panel and place your video card in the slots that is depending on the manufacture of your CPU sometime this slot is larger than the slot for the sound card after determine which slots is for which the hardware should slide right in and the same apply to the sound card. I like Best Buy for hardware. Hope this help!

as far as your memory is in contact that's counseled to purpose checking to artwork out in case you acquire a slower velocity of ram, purely once you concentration on that you upgraded to 2 GB imagine ofyou've were given inadvertently grabbed some RAM it is slower, search for topics labled computer##00, or DDR ###. and pass evaluate what replace into on your a million GB RAM even as in evaluation with whats on your 2 GB's. as far as your video card is going study and make certain you've the numerous present day drivers for it. the least puzzling way is to circumvent to the chipset manufactures internet web site (theres extremely purely 2 nVidia, and ATI) and replace your drivers in the time of the downloads and help section. If that doesnt artwork, study your motherboard and see if its compatable with both between the products you install. no count number if that's RMA both and get new stuff.

Very simple to do
Just need to be careful not to tinker with other things on the motherboard
Order the parts online tigerdirect.com
If you can identify the parts, then you can simply swap things out or add.
Be careful if you are adding a video card, need to first determine if you have an onboard video card.
Good luck and have fun.

No it is not hard. Most computer upgrades are simply plugging boards into slots. I would recommend www.tigerdirect.com
they also offer simple easy to follow instructions on their web page. They are extremely reasonable too.

get your computer manual out, and see how to remove the cover, lay the tower unit down flat, unscrew the memory card and place the new one in.

It is not that hard to do. Go to a computer store nearby, and tell what you want. Just make sure that you got the right ones that fit your PC.
