I've already changed CD-R brands, tried different software, and even restored my computer (not just for that. I did some upgrading as well). I was told there was something between Windows and certain burning software that if I remove that script it will start to burn again. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

it's a Matshita UJ-810. If updated the firmware and it still won't work. The only programs loaded right now are Yahoo! Music Engine, Window's Media Player, and the software that came with the laptop, Sonic Stage.

Try and get a third party software and try to use it to burn cds. Get like roxio trial or sonicrecord now. Also i knowthis mightsound funny but another way to troubleshoot is to download itunes (if you are the only person on earth who does not have itunes) then try and burn music using that cd. If it works then windows is having issues. Hope that helps. If you wish let me know how it goes.

You should provide the name of the DVD Drive company & softwares you are using.

That explains it... laptop... and yes... the software that you use really matters. The standard these days is pretty much Nero.

Try that out and see if there is a difference. I bet you will be astonished.
