You can lift the lid while scanning and if there is no light then the tube is definitely blown. Replace the scanner, they're cheap! Good luck!

When you open the top part of the scanner there isnt no light coming out. To replace it, you might have to bring it to best buy or compUSA.

You know when it says "Don't operate with the lid open", well open it and see if it lights up!
