Check the video card and make sure its plugged in tightly as the techies would say CHIP CREEP! it happens more times then I could shake a stick at. Probable causes for vid to do what it did. bought a new one and doesn't quite fit or its not seated in properly. Oh my God KRUX plug in backwards that has to be the stupidest thing I have seen all day. unless its a 72 pin you can not do it backwards at all. The RAM people set it up that way so you wouldnt dammage the computer. And if it was the RAM you would still get the POST and there would still be somthing on the screen no matter what because the computer boots to the ROM chip wich is the BIOS chip and that stores memory enough to do a POST

typical memory problem... ur ram maybe burnt, not placed correctly in the slot or might have got dirt along its connectors.

First of all turn off and unplug ur PC. take the ram out of the slot and blow off any dust that might have accumulated along its connectors. Re-connect and then reboot the system.

If this does not work borrow a working ram module from a friend and try that out.

If still in vain,

No.1---- ask a tech support guy to check you bios.

No.2 --- try replacing the hard disk with a friend's working disk. although if there was a disk problem you would have loaded the bios successfully.

No. 3 ---- if all fails it might be your motherboard or processor (not likely though)

Those "beeps" are stop codes. Each type of motherboard and vendor has different meanings of those beeps. For example, IBM has a code for two longs beeps means that there is a keyboard error.
You have to check with the vendor (if you can) of the motherboard for the stop codes.

You must have a HP Look in your owners manual and it will tell you what the beeps mean. usually some kind of comp error

If your computer isnt even POSTing then that means that there is somthing broken inside the computer.... most likely the Motherboard/CPU. RAM is verry hard to get rid of. I have seen RAM installed backwords and still be fine to go.

Motherboard error code, check your manual or look up the error online by providing your make and model to a search engine, that should turn something up.

If nothing comes up on the screen you have a video problem. If it is not a video problem the BIOS should show you what is and isn't working.

Do one thing...I think your PC needs to be installed again...install Windows 98/Me/2000 or XP ok...install it and one more thing...do not give partition to your hard disk again or else all the data will be gone...

Sounds like a RAM failure. Take it into a shop and have them test it. If it's not working you'll need to buy new RAM.
