simply the best way is to open your case and inspect the board, the name will be next to the ram or in the middle next to the cpu
or you could download a brilliant peice of software called sisoft-sandra avalible from http://www.sisoftware.net/,this will let you know nearly everything you need to know about your p.c....motherboard,cpu,graphics,sound,ram,it even lets you know your windows product license key, handy if you have mislayed your original
on the motherboard section it lets you know....type,socket,max ram, type of ram needed, onboard devices,so you should find what you are looking for there
good luck

Try contacting the seller,if this is not possible and in the absence of documentation or specs for the pc, you need the make and model of your pc and google it. For example, if your pc turned out to be a Compaq Presario SR1729, you would then do a search on google by entering 'Compaq Presario SR1729 motherboard' (no quotes)

This will give you the info you need.

ps. dxdiag does not always give you full information, if it does on your pc then fair play
