I am looking for a good wireless router that is really cheap because I won't be using it on anything at all except for my Wii which I always keep on the first floor. I have my internet hookup on the first floor too, so I don't need one with a very far range. I also DO NOT want to buy this on the internet because I really want it soon and other reasons. Please be specific. Include the name of company, model, where to buy, price, etc. I am looking for one in a price range of $20 to $60.

I am building a cabin near my house...approximately 500 ft from my house with my orignal DSL connection. I have other things running underground so i thought about internet. Are there special long distance cables? I have a linksys router, is it powerful enough to push the current? Ive heard of cat5 and cat6...no idea what they are. Any such thing as a "booster"? Please help : )

Product: Windows Operating System
Event ID: 1003
Source: Dhcp
Version: 5.2
Symbolic Name: EVENT_FAILED_TO_RENEW
Message: Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address %1. The following error occurred:
%2. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

Explanation
The DHCP Client service on your computer did not receive a response from the DHCP server to renew your computer's IP address lease. The client still has a valid IP address and periodically will try to get an address lease extension.

This could be caused by network connectivity issues, a DHCP server or relay malfunction, firewall issues, or a malfunction of your computer's network interface card or driver.

This happened when me and my brother were on our computers inwhich we use an router to connect ours.

Now that he has left he still cannot get internet access help!!!

Im currently downloading a 701mb movie.
I need to know what the "down speed" and "up speed" are?
it shows my downspeed-50KB/sec and upspeed-22KB/sec
so if the downspeed rate is high, does that mean my download would be faster?
also, how do i improve downloading speed?

I need a solution that allows me to backup any selected files/folders/drives from all of the following on a wired and wireless home network:
- Laptop running Windows XP Pro
- Computer running Windows XP Pro
- Computer running Windows Vista Home Premium

to a Windows XP Professional computer located on the network via ethernet.
These backups will most likely be setup differently on each computer, for example the computer running Vista will need to backup every night, but the others would be once a week.
Altermately l am looking for some kind of software solution and preferably not to expensive!
