Message: Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address %1. The following error occurred:
%2. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

Explanation
The DHCP Client service on your computer did not receive a response from the DHCP server to renew your computer's IP address lease. The client still has a valid IP address and periodically will try to get an address lease extension.

This could be caused by network connectivity issues, a DHCP server or relay malfunction, firewall issues, or a malfunction of your computer's network interface card or driver.

This happened when me and my brother were on our computers inwhich we use an router to connect ours.

Now that he has left he still cannot get internet access help!!!

This happens at my house too, except that it says nothing... I have a desktop with Windows 2000.
Go to your router and pull the power plug (this will reboot it). Then open up command promp on your comp and type:

ipconfig /release

wait for confirmation, or something saying there are no DHCP adresses, or some message.
then type:

ipconfig /renew

wait a couple of seconds (maybe minutes) and a message should come up telling you your subnet mask, ip adress, etc. The internet should work now

Well, he has two choices. He can wait several days for his DHCP lease to expire, and then connect, OR:
He can open a command prompt, (start-run- then type "cmd") and type in these two commands, in order "ipconfig /release", then "ipconfig /renew".
