Computer Networking - August 2006

I'm needing to reboot my router but am afriad to because I think I might have to re-enter the network key and they guy that set up our system didn't tell me the key or the password so I'm not sure what it is. If I reboot my my router will I have to enter in a password or network key?

I have an old pc (it is a pentium 1 MMX 233MHz, on Windows 98) that is not in use. I was thinking of using it to store my videos instead of saving them on my newer pc (pentium 4, win XP), maybe connecting the two machines. Do you think it would be possible? How do I do it? Thanx!!!

I have two computers in my office and one is connected wirelessly. Normally I have no trouble accessing the internet or the printer that is hooked up to the other computer but today I have had a whole lot of trouble doing both. It says that it unable to connect to the perfered wireless network and I have opened the Available wireless networks and tried to connected from there but it still wont. I'm not sure what to do. Can anyone give me some advice on how to fix it?

Computer is Mac G4/400 AGP running Mac OSX.2.6. Would like not to upgrade from 10.2 to 10.3 due to the fact that my Tascam US-122 works only with 10.2 (that is and audio interface)

I have four computers running on windows 2000 and they are on the same workgroup, but anytime i want to have access to the work group from any of the systems there is this error message "The server is not configured for transactions" Please how do i solve this problem cos i really want them to share a printer

How many times while you are at the computer, wether you are programming or just playing video game,had to stop and go look around asking any body for an anti virus, would that be considered polite or annoying ? And what do you think about computer virus in general, would they entuce 'friendship' or anything at all ?

Basically, I don't want to use another PC as a "printer server". I want to connect the printer to the router directly so that I don't have to have the main computer on when I'm printing from a secondary PC in the household.

ok i'm just a newbie to this so heres my problem:

ok,2 weeks ago a had a bit of a problem with my wireless connection, while i was playing starcraft online.I started to lag..which shouldnt happen since we have an SBC yahoo 2wire router(DSL)

My sister, along with her laptop went back to Phillipines for 2 weeks or so and then the miracle happened my computer didnt lag or had any problems anymore,i know it was her laptop's fault since we use the same connection but, now that she's back i'm having the same trouble from last time...is there anyway to solve it? i have a USB linksys wireless-g adapter - she uses her built-in adapter
