I have an airport card in my g4. Won't accept WEP password for 2Wire modem. What to do?

Computer is Mac G4/400 AGP running Mac OSX.2.6. Would like not to upgrade from 10.2 to 10.3 due to the fact that my Tascam US-122 works only with 10.2 (that is and audio interface)
