Ok, I just got a new computer today. As expected, I was forced to downgrade my computer from vista to XP. Anyway, I have always had a Ethernet cord running from the router downstairs (which is connected to the modem) up to my room. My old computer was able to connect to the internet without a problem with the same cord. My new computer also has built-in wireless internet capabilities. And for some reason, on my new computer, it is unable to detect the Internet protocal TCP/IP. I have tried every wizard on both my new computer and the host computer. Please, I need your help. Thanks

I am looking for a quality, inexpensive CAD programme that would have similar quality's to AutoCAD 2007. TurboCAD Deluxe V14 was recommended to me but I can't find any reviews on this programme that compares it's to AutoCAD 2007. Please pass on any recommendations or reviews. Thanks, J

I edit an image that had "bits not to be seen". saved it over the original. windows thumbnail still shows the unedited version of the picture. even if it is send via email to another computer. Why is that so? If i put black boxes over something in the picture is that data original data still in the picture? 2 reasons. one don't want people seeing the original picture. also i saved over the original and do not have a copy how can i remove what i edited on that picture? played with gimp imagemagick on linux and still nothing. xp just shows the picture as if it was never edited. Vista shows it the same for a sec or 2 then shows the edits. it is a flat jpeg image. would be happy to supply part detail of a imagemagick 'identify -verbose foo.jpg' if it will help figure it out. GNU systems show the thumbnail just fine with totem's thumbnailer.

I am wondering about free unprotected wifi internet wirless connections. I use it for free at my college, but I went over my friends house and he uses it for free too. He lives right in an excellent hotspot. Is this OK though? it doesn't ask for a password like if someone were to pay for the service. You just log in, free internet for him. How can this be? and there just a high school near by, could it be theirs or maybe someone whos paying for wifi doesn't know there protecting their spot. Can he get in trouble or is it just free. P.s. I have no idea where its coming from though, he just uses it.

is it true that vista will ask you for the key again if you add new hardware? Im planning to upgrade my computer alot and soon get a new case/ watercooling.
Im a little bit worried because I read a review about vista and someone said that they added 1 more fan and vista asked for key again, and he said it didnt work for some weird reason.

For some reason, my External Hard Drive won't turn on. I have a 500GB Western Digital. It was working just fine a few hours ago, but now, when I go to turn on my laptop, the green ring on the front won't light up. I tried two different outlets and two different computers. What's going on? I've only had the hard rive for a few months. :(

I read an item on an anti Hotmail site recently that Microsoft keeps hidden folders on our computers which log everything we do on our computers, if it is true, then would it be possible to find them and safely delete them without harming the o/s? Would the files be replaced by Microsoft at the next update for windows?

I have:

- Windows XP
- Office 2003 and i mainly use Microsoft Word 2003.

I want to make a guide example: "Internet"

Where you have a nice heading and a table content on its first page:

a. what is internet
b. origins of the internet
etc........

Now if you click on "a. what is internet" it should direct you straight to where you will have that information on a different page or down the page.

My question: Can somebody give me or list websites that can show how to do that with Microsoft Word 2003 or what programs do i need to do that?

Looking to buy a Radeon 3850. I went to newegg.com, and they have hundreds of different kinds. Does it matter if its visiontek or diamond, or asus or whatever else there is; and some have more RAM than others, I assume it is always better to have more RAM. Does anything else make a difference?
