Generally speaking you need to read the small print. If you press a button ACCEPT you may be agreeing to all sorts of things you are not aware of.

Another safe site for downloading is Major Geeks:-

Lol then stop downloading them. If your after games then go to the website of the game u want they usely have playerble demos the same go's for software a lot of software companys give u the option of trying it first...

Retail games have spy ware in them.

I can name 1 company that uses spyware i can even tell u what that spyware is..:-) it's good old winsniffer...genrly used for footprinting. Except in the case of the retail cd's it's a ligitmate part of the installing process. The installer needs 2 find out information from your computer it do's this by use of winsniffer..

The company is Seirra..:-) I have brought several games that they have made averble and they all had winsniffer in them...

I dont excatly know how comp lit u r but u can always look at the source code of the page... and if u know what your looking for you'll know weather it's good or not..

One option available to you is to download McAfee Site Advisor (it comes in versions for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox), which are available from the urls given below.

Once installed, a coloured bar will appear next to the address bar in Internet Explorer, or at the bottom of the screen in Mozilla Firefox. The colour indicates whether the site is safe for downloading from. Green=safe; Yellow=some risk; Red=known to contain spyware/adware/trojans/viruses.

Take a look and see what you think.

yes a lot of freeware has got virus, spyware, adware and so on but as they say "you get what you pay for" if you want a good solid piece of software then in todays world you have to pay for it.

You have to download from a reputable site. Try cnet.com, you can find just about anything there. Happy Christmas
