I have noticed my Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop is getting sluggish therefore I am going to reinstall my operating system but I do not know how. I would like to create a backup as I would like to keep my files and music I have. Is there a way this can be done?

Becasue i have Windows XP Professional

is there a specific version of service pack 2 for Pro users??

How many service pack 2's are there?

or can service pack 2 work for both home edition & pro...

Becasue many times i installed service pack 2

and when the computer boots up


it would say


"windows xp" only!!

before i put service pack 2


it said:

Professional

Now it says




Windows XP


CO. Microsoft



whast funny is that it doesnt say professional anymore


does this happen to home users too???

I have Vista, I added a stick of 2 G Ram today and redid the Vista test thing that gives you a 'score'. Before it was 5.9, and AFTER the "Memory Operations per second" line went to 4.9, why would this happen?

m the Admin. on my family's comp. The only problem is, on everyone's account but mine, the whole taskbar disappears!! I've reinstalled their accounts multiple times, but they never stay. Whats wrong and how do i fix? It was suggested i right click the taskbar and unclick autohide, but how do i right click the taskbar if it isnt there??!

ok...i have a dell laptop that printed fine untill a couple of weeks ago. When i try to print, a box shows up and says "cannot print due to error in printer setup" . wat can i do to fix this. it is getting on my last nerve!!!!!

Can i reuse my hardrive from my previous computer, which essentially broke. The harddrive is in fine condition. Is there a way that i can use it as my primary and still retain all programs and my OS without having to reinstall everything. I do not plan on buying another harddrive.

I have DSL and I use a DSL filter/splitter to split the DSL and the Phone. When I have the filter plugged in my printer will not print. If I unplug my filter and directly connect the DSL phone line to the wall jack my printer works fine. How can I fix this problem???

I am buying an HP dv9500t laptop, and I am wondering whether or not to get a 240 GB 5400 RPM hard drive(free upgrade from 160 GB 5400 RPM), or a 240 GB 7200 RPM hard drive, which is 75 dollars more. I basicly only use a computer for playing games, using Word and Powerpoint, going on the Internet, and playing online games. Will my games run faster with a 7200 RPM hard drive, or will the excess heat from the 7200 RPM hard drive cause everything else to become slower? my little bars that show how much signal im getting are green (lots of signal) but when i unplug my laptop, i dont get internet. when i look at the wireless networks and try to connect, i still dont get internet. whats wrong? how can i get wireless WITHOUT a router? or how can i make a wireless network of my own w/o a router?

Ok well i had to write a paper for school and i did it on the computer at school. I put it on a flash drive and brought it home and opened it up with word 07. Then i brought it back to school to print it and it wouldnt open. So i wen back home and it wouldnt open either. It brings up some weird translation thing and when i click ok it brings up this "¬”ÍNÃ0„ïH¼Cä;qR" random characters like that. I tried opening it with notepad but it didnt work. Help owuld be appreciated because i dont want to have to rewrite it.
