What do u do when u first get ur laptop? Do u hook it up and call a cable company like a desktop or plug it up like a portable dvd player? I know i sound stupid but i need to know.Im only 13.Thanx!!!!!

Make your connection just like a desktop, the cable company should have given you a setup disk to install the computer to the modem. Use the Cat V cable connect it to the modem or router if you have more than one computer. run setup wizard.
