i bought a gateway pc with vista. vista is the worst thing ever. I have a windows xp upgrade cd, and when i put it in the cd, the intall windows xp option was grayed out. how would i go about installing xp now.

I had some old speakers so I bought some new ones and they both have done the same exact thing... the sound is set right on the properties and I even uninstalled and reinstalled the soft ware one works with the head phones and the other without they don't work together for some reason. XP Pro SP2

I get a free copy of Vista from school, and I want to try it out. My setup would be to have both XP and Vista in the same hard-drive. However, I hear Vista just plain sucks (Amazon.com reviews). Is it even worth it or should I keep my hard-drive clean and keep XP only?
