ALCK is not classed as a virus, but as a spyware. (It does not automatically spread itself, you have to download it, so it is not a "virus") So most virus scanners will not clean it.

Try Spybot Seek&Destroy (which is a spyware cleaner) and see if that resolves the problem. Available free at http://download.com It is recommended that you do the scan with the computer is Safe Mode. Turn the PC on and begin to repeatedly press the f8 key until you get the safe Mode option. When in Safe Mode, only the minimum files needed to display the desktop are loaded. This prevents viruses and spywares from being able to load and makes it easier for the sanners to clean them.

Then go to Microsoft.com and download their free Defender program. It will act as a block against future spyware attacks.

Apart from what has been said here, I would turn OFF the restore system function then remove the spyware otherwise you might get rid of the pesky spyware from your computer only to discover that it has restored itself on to your computer again,
Do not accept or open suspicious error dialogues from within the browser
Spyware may come as part of a "free deal" offer - do not accept free deals
And please remember always read carefully the End User License agreement at Install time and cancel if other “programs” are being installed as part of the desired program.
and always keep software and security patches up to date,
good luck with the removal.

If you get infected with a Trojan chances are they infected your registry as well. So even if you managed to delete the Trojan from where it was located on startup it is able to re-write itself. To remove any Trojans i find i Google the name of said Trojan and look for a fix, this normally gets rid of the registry problem as well. Good luck.

Do a virus scan whilst in safe mode. Reboot and click on F8 continually until you are in safe mode.
