I had XP since 2004 and just bought a new computer with Vista on it... Vista is the worst thing I have ever encountered on a computer. XP is so much better!

Of course. After the hardware and software people can create their stuff to match Vista better, not just "compatible" from the XP days. After Vista works all the bugs out.

People never like new computer stuff when they're used to a previous. I hated graphical word on Windows 3 when I had text DOS based word before. I hated windows 95 when I had to move from Windos 3.1 etc etc (yes I am that old)... so I know that the new is daunting and generally accept it. I have been using Vista for nearly a year - and I STILL HATE IT. Turn UAC off and it's bearable, but Windows Explorer. Jeez. Talk about making things opaque. Why all the directory shortcuts you can't follow. Why appdata roaming microsoft folder open by default? RANT RANT RANT. But.. all hail the all powerfull Microsoft and bow down... get used to it. The future's Vista. Oh goody.

Vista is just so complicated and many users who have upgraded to Vista downgraded shortly afterwards to XP. I think that Vista has more applications and maybe better for the more computer/technology savvy... but XP is just more user friendly.

Vista is a huge fumble and won't be supported long enough. XP didn't start out perfect but it's future was well planned. Vistas is not.

Vista is for Visuals, XP is for Performance.
We need both Visuals and Performance. If Vista has these both then fine. Performance includes features, security, easy use etc.

I would say Vista is just a result of efforts to copy from Mac OSX Tiger, and Windows went from bad to worse. As steve jobs once said, "Microsoft have no taste"
