After, I've downloaded a certain font, how can I activate it in Photoshop 7.0? In other words, how can I use it to type in Photoshop? Do I require any addtional software/program for it?

You need to drag and drop the font file in the fonts folder in the control panel first (copy and paste works just as good).

Then you will be able to use it in Photoshop.

The other way to do this is to actually install the font.

Go to Control Panel and click Fonts.

From the File menu choose "Install new font..."

In the bottom half of this dialog box choose the location where the new font files are. All fonts show up in the top section for any location chosen.

Then select the fonts (or use the "Select All" button.

Click OK to install.

The next time you start Photoshop the font will be available.

No additional software other than Windows is required.
