I doubt you would get the actuall IP of the sender however. Only the mail server.

It is different with each program, but you need to view the "header" of the email. It is a lot of tech stuff transmitted before the actual message itself. Most e-mail program are set not to display that information, but will have an option to turn it on.

Be aware that the IP address will normally NOT get you to the person who sent it. Only to the ISP that they use. So even with the information you may not be able to prove who sent the e-mail.

It changes per email client, but look for an option to show 'message headers' or something to that ilk.

The sending IP, or at least, the last bounce it made, will be in there. You just have to dig.

You can view the detailed message header to determine where the mail came from.
