My laptop is a HP Pavillion ZE4900, I just bought a new battery and power supply to see if that would fix the problem but my laptop still won't start. The light just keep blinking orange after couple hours trying to charge it.

Okay, so I have a job to finish, and I just can't figure out DNS, can't wrap my head around it.

Here's the situation using fictitious PUBLIC routable IP addreses.

Say I have a domain, say it's lizdomain.com
Say I have that registered with godaddy.
Say I want to host it myself on an Ubuntu 7.10 gutsy server. Say I also want that same server to do the DNS, and be the mailserver for this zone:
I know I need the following.
A zone configuration file
an SOA (???!)
proper configuration of a file called named.conf in /etc/bind/ (jailed elsewhere, but that's all working)
a reverse DNS i think ptr file.
other stuff.

So what I'd like to know is.
what files to I need to edit, where do I find them, and what should they look like, how do they talk to the other DNS servers in the world, and basically what would a proper bind9 setup look like for:

lizdomain.com
web server public IP: 99.1.1.99
DNS server same (use loopback here?)
mail server same
machine's hostname is lizserver1

I did a deep search on pipl and zabasearch, and scary times ensued. It revealed my birthdate, email address, physical address, the full names of my family members, etc... Basic internet searches (e.g. Google) don't turn this stuff up. What can I do to scrub it out? Is it hopeless?

i changed the value in the registry and the splash screen still appears, anybody have any other suggestions? thanks.

My Acer Aspire has only worked for three months, then broke.
The dealer played with it , but couldn't fix it.
I have sent it back to Acer five times now and the freight is killing me. Each time it hasn't worked an hour.
The last time they changed nothing, I turned it on and before it downloaded the Norton updates it went blue screen.
Acer now says it is off warranty, and won't help.
(They have had it in their system for nine months now.)
I am thoroughly frustrated and am just throwing it away.

I am wondering if it was the only bad one out there.
Their warranty definetely sucks.

Ps This is my fifth laptop, and I ahve had computers since the DOS days.

I live in New York. I need to get rid of a CRT monitor. I want to know how to recycle it, and can't find info via a google search. I know there's tons of lead in CRTs, so I don't want to throw it away.

I also can't take it too far. I would need to find a place nearby (I have zero access to a car).

I am a civil engineering student and I need a new laptop. I will be getting AutoCad and I need a lot of memory to store all my projects, plus, I am a big music and movie fan so I would be downoading and storing a lot of stuff. i have a 7350 LE Gefore right now, but with only 128 M, i saw a deal with 139.99 for 7300 GT Gefore with 512 M, is the 7300 GT better than what i have?

Is the 8000 series better than the 7600 GT even with a lower memory?

My brother didn't shut down my iMac G4 properly. Now when I go to turn it on the screen stays at the start-up screen (the 1st screen that shows the Apple symbol and the little loading circle) that shows the loading indicator. All it does is goes around in circles and doesn't move on to the next screen. What can I do to fix it? Help please. Thanks!!

i need a new power supply for this BFG NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT 512MB Video Card that i want to buy, but i never changed the power supply before. will this change of power supply effect other components? or harm them?
