Is there any difference? A friend tried to briefly explain it, but he just made it more confusing. What is the difference?

First, HP messed up my computer BY TRYING TO FIX IT, so I just decided to recover it, meaning getting back to factory default state but not losing my data completely. I had to reinstall spysweeper too. Now, my computer is running slower and I keep getting popups saying it's infected and that I need to buy some program to get rid of things.
I know lots of people have trouble with their norton and they say that you must pay to get customer service by the phone!!

I just renewed my subscription this last summer, but now it says that I have 30 -something days left of it.
On the security tab, it says DISABLED and when I click turn on, the computer merely restarts.
Please!! What should I do?? I am a student and this is disrupting my work. Should I just get a different virus protector??

I have a Desktop with Windows XP on on running 256 and I was thinking about adding more RAM to improve the system. I have never done any type of repair/upgrade like this before and was wondering:
1) How easy it is to do this type of upgrade for a beginner?
2) How expensive does it cost to upgrade?
3) What is the best upgrade RAM to go to?
Any tips or advice would be most appreciated!

It says "unable to open your default email folders. Could not open the item.
Would you like to open your default file system folder instead?

I dont wanna go looking around in temporary internet files for the swf files. I need to download swf files from sites like these:

All those sites are SWF files. Hoe do i download them???

I have two 1 GB sticks of G.skill ddr2 800 (PC2 6400) of Ram. I also have a 1 GB stick of Super Talent ddr2 533 (PC2 4200), which is slower. Would it benefit me to add the slower gig of memory, or should I not add it. Thanks. By the way My system is a AMD X2 6000+ and an ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe. Thank you

i have a dell labtop and i have a blue screen that says a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer
and then a whole bunch of other words like :
check with hardware vedor for BIOS updates
Disable BIOS memory options
check to make sure u have adequate disk space

then like technical info:
STOP: 0x0000007E

beginning of dump of physical memory
physical memory dump complete

I have a Dell laptop and it is giving me trouble. I opened my computer and as it was starting up the screen was small and in the middle of the monitor. It is black all the way around the visible part and I can't figure out how to change it back. I don't know what happened, or what to do. Please help me out guys!

ok so i got a virus that seemed to make my internet very slow, and i got spyware that had a little yellow triangle with an exclamation point near my clock that gave me tons of pop ups. so i downloaded avg 7.5, avg anti spyware, ad aware se personal, and spybot. now all of these programs with 2 days of thorough scans seemed to support what i thought. i had a trojan virus and lots of spyware, but these programs did nothing to help only detect. after searching specifically for these problems i found that people used avast! antivirus for the trojan, and SUPERantispyware for the yellow triangle problem. 1 day later they both got taken care. The next day i did scans with all programs including those and nothing is detected. BUT BUT my internet is dsl and is going as slow or slower than dial up. this has nothing to do with the modem seeing as i play my ps3 lag free, so i dont know what the problem is but i want it fixed. please help!
