ok i know i have a virus...im going to do a system restore on my computer...the problem is that my explorer.exe is not loading....and i want to save my file and documents to a cd...i forgot my administraive password so i've been using the other accounts...the task manager wont load in my other account...except for guest...even in safe mode...the only way i can get in is under guest...but guest doesnt show the documents and other files i need to save....is there any other way i can get to my files...

After showing the toshiba image, the computer asks for a password. This happened after it hanged and turned itself off. I don't remember putting in a power on or supervisor password. I tried reformatting my laptop but the I cant seem to make the recovery disc work. Please help me. All my important files are in that laptop.

I was able to demote a level by clicking "delete key" once and it'd bring me back up one level but this morning the delete key trick didn't work at all which forced me to click "Tab + shift" in order to get the same effect. This is extremely annoying/time-consuming when fast note taking and I was wondering if someone had a solution for it. MS Office for mac (Word 2004) in notebook layout. Thanks!

I need someone who knows a lot about computers. I want to but a computer real soon. But there are some questions that I have to know the answers to before I do it. So here are my questions:

1. What computer would be the best to get?
2. What type of internet is the best?
3. how expensive is internet?
4. Will I pay the internet by how much I use it or is it a monthly bill of so much money?
5. I need to get a phone line for my internet. How do I do that?
6. About how expensive are computers?

I have AMD Athelon Gateway, The Office 2003 program and the past Mc Afee (Free from Comcast) cause the system run very slow and some times hang up, trying to reinstalll M/S office 2003 still doesn't work. Gateway send me recovery disc and told me to run and wipe out evrything and start like a new fresh computer.
I do need to save some of the programs like: Nero; DVD fab; DVD shrink; Power DVD and some of my personal files in My Document.
How can I save all of those files and later to reinstall back???

My company issued me a Sony Vaio laptop and a HP printer. The Sony laptop has a USB port. But the printer has a cord that is a 50-pin scuzzy.

Therefore, the normal parallel connector cord sold at stores like Office Max doesn't do the job at connecting the two machines.

The cord from the printer is called a 50-pin scuzzy. Where can I buy a connector that is able to hook up with the printer from the laptop's USB?

This is a fairly new computer (like 8 or 9 months old). They never worked, even when I first got the computer. I am connected to the internet when I try to download the updates, and it says that they are downloading for a few seconds, then say that the download has failed and move on to the next update on the list and do the same thing.

a) any idea why this is happening?

b) is it critical that I get these updates, or is it not really a bug deal if I don't worry about it?
