I have a broken computer tray, with the whole cd-rom driver broken. Is it easy to put a windows xp one into a windows 98 system? If so, how

Are you asking if you can swap out your CD rom ? yes you can you don't need to load drivers for it to work , windows will see the hard ware.

you can upgrade windows 98 to windows xp, just insert the cd of winxp on the cd rom then run the setup file it will ask you whether you want to upgrade your os or not. just select yes. it will upgard you windows 98 into windows xp.

If you mean, can you install a new CD drive, yes you can. Just be sure to set the jumper on the back of the drive correctly.
