How can I edit text from scanned documents?

I have a cannon pixma mp160 scanner/printer and I want to scan a doc. and then delet and edit the text on there.
Is there a way I can do that without buy or downloading anything besides the actual doc.

Hi. Use 'Download to application'. Your software that came with the scanner should have 'OCR' (Optical Character Recognition) as an option.
