I have a Dell laptop and it is giving me trouble. I opened my computer and as it was starting up the screen was small and in the middle of the monitor. It is black all the way around the visible part and I can't figure out how to change it back. I don't know what happened, or what to do. Please help me out guys!

Reboot your laptop in safe mode, it should come up with the default video driver. Go to control panel, Click on Display and change the settings resolution to whats normal for your laptop.

If it only happens during startup and changes when the operating system is loaded, don't worry about it. Those initial things are happening at a resolution smaller than the monitor's resolution and the operating system's ability to scale and stretch hasn't loaded yet.

(Some older Dells have a setting in System Setup - press F2 as soon as something appears on the screen - to determine how those things are displayed. I don't have one in front of me to tell you the name of the setting.)
